Welcome New Family Medicine Residents
The Yellowstone City-County Health Department (YCCHD), the Deering Community Health Center (CHC) and the Montana Family Medicine Residency (MFMR) program celebrated the 41st annual Community Health Center Week by welcoming six new resident physicians to the Billings healthcare community. The new class of 2009 includes:
Jenni Bigback, MD, Lame Deer, MT
Kris Cunningham, MD, Billings, MT
Sarah McCollester, MD, Pittsburgh, PA
Zachary Meyers, MD, Kalispell, MT
Ryan Schwanke, MD, Great Falls, MT
Neil Sun Rhodes, MD, Fort Kipp, MT
Five of the new residents are from Montana and three are Native American. “We are thrilled to have an exceptionally talented group of people in our program and are especially proud that we are able to mirror the population we serve,” said Roxanne Fahrenwald, director of the residency program. Lil Anderson, CEO and health officer for the Yellowstone City-County Health Department, said that the new residents are “paving the way for future Native American healthcare providers."
